About the role
Clarence Valley Council is seeking an experienced Coordinator Economic Development and Tourism to lead the development and implementation of various economic initiatives that drive the long-term growth of the Clarence Valley.
The role will primarily be focused on delivering the Regional Economic Development Strategy (REDS) and the Destination Management Plan (DMP), while supporting development of Land Use Planning and placemaking initiatives.
This is a temporary appointment to fill a parental leave commencing in February and ending in December 2025, with the possibility of extension.
About you - Ideally you will be degree qualified in a relevant discipline such as Economic Development, Business Management, Economics, Business Management, Project Management, or have a strong understanding and possess demonstrated experience in managing a diverse range of projects. You will be a natural communicator and demonstrate an ability and experience in community engagement to develop partnerships and effective relationships with key stakeholders. You will understand key economic drivers and have the ability to lead a small team to deliver programs and projects that grow the region. You will have experience with destination marketing and placemaking to be able to lead effective strategies that build the My Clarence Valley brand and building tourism offering in the region. You will have the ability to build networks at a State and Federal level to identify and support a cohesive approach to projects, including securing available grant funding.
