We are seeking a motivated and qualified individual to join our Assets and Engineering team as Coordinator Asset Management in a Permanent Full-Time capacity.

This position is based in Colac.
This is a leadership position that will ensure:
- The effective management of Council’s asset portfolio through implementing and maintaining systems and processes that provides value for money through the asset life cycle planning.
- Asset Management plans for all Council infrastructure are developed and updated to remain current and implemented to enable effective and efficient management of Council’s asset portfolio.
- Assets are annually revalued and indexed to inform the fair value of each asset by 31 March each year.
- Risk management activities relative to the requirements of the Road Management Act 2004 are managed appropriately.
- Sound strategic advice is provided in relation to asset management principles and application to ensure Council continues to gain maturity in asset management.
Key responsibilities include:
- Providing strong leadership to the Infrastructure and Operations Division, participating in continuous development of an efficient, effective, customer focused team.
- Coordinating and undertaking investigations and inspections of Council assets, and provide advice, reports and/or work instructions as required resulting from customer requests.
- Developing, monitoring, implementing and updating reviews as required for asset management policy, strategy and plans ensuring asset management documents are timely, relevant, and aligned to industry best practice.
- Generating Capital Works budget proposals for renewal programs for infrastructure asset categories and liaise with the Engineering team to ensure programs are soundly based on Asset Management and sustainability principles.
- Managing Council’s risk management activities relative to the requirements of the Road Management Act 2004 including monitoring and recording routine inspections and actions undertaken by the Asset Inspection Officer.
- Preparing, maintaining and annually reviewing the Public Road Register for currency pursuant to relevant legislation.
About You:
To support your success in this role you will have:
- Tertiary Degree or Diploma in an engineering discipline and minimum of five years of experience.
- Experience in and sound knowledge of advanced asset management principles, practices and Asset Management System.
- Excellent knowledge of infrastructure financial management.
- Excellent knowledge of Geographic Information Systems and their link to Asset Management System.
- Ability to understand and implement policies and procedures as well as relevant legislation.
- Excellent communication skills, high development of both written and oral and demonstrated ability to negotiate with internal and external stakeholders to achieve the objectives of the organisation.
- Demonstrated time management skills including the ability to use initiative and judgement to reach outcomes and to work unsupervised so as to achieve objectives of the department/Council.
- Proven supervisory experience, including the ability to develop and motivate staff, provide expert advice, establish and monitor outcomes and establish documented procedures and work instructions.
- Demonstrated effective analytical, problem solving and investigative skills to solve complex problems.
- A Current Victorian Drivers Licence.

Salary information: $111,104.76 to $124,013.76 per annum plus superannuation
