Contracts Supervisor – Waste (Ref: 1399)
About the position:
This position will provide effective supervision for the delivery of the City’s Waste Services Contracts, in particular landfill management, collection services and landfill gas contracts. The role will ensure that contracts are efficiently managed, services are delivered as per schedule, and contractors’ invoices are processed accordingly in compliance with legislative and process requirements. Additionally, the Contracts Supervisor – Waste (Ref: 1399) will be accountable for ensuring contractors’ documentation is up-to-date and regularly audited.
Key accountabilities:
- Monitor the contractors’ onsite execution of waste services contract.
- Develop and evaluate key performance indicators to gain insights into the performance of the City’s waste management services, ensuring alignment with the contract requirements and industry standards.
- Manage and monitor the performance of the City’s kerbside collection and landfill management contracts and other operational waste contracts to ensure these meet the needs of the community, customers, and the City’s Waste and Recycling Strategic plan.
- Reconcile invoices and requisitions ensuring high degree of accuracy and attention to detail aligned with the works delivered by the waste services contractors.
- Work Collaboratively with the Coordinator Waste to develop the request for tenders’ scopes in line with the City’s Strategic Waste plans and procures and manage waste-related services and consultancy contracts.

Position requirements:
The successful applicant will ideally hold a Degree in Business Management or lesser qualification with substantial experience in contract Management. Additionally, will have comprehensive experience in the onsite supervision of contractors and procurement processes with highly developed interpersonal skills and ability to consult, negotiate and resolve issues.
Completion of a pre-employment medical including alcohol and other substances testing is required of all positions at the City.
Remuneration and benefits:
A salary range between $97,157 – $108,700 per annum will be offered dependent on knowledge, skills, experience and qualifications of the successful candidate as it relates to the requirements of the position.
