About the Role

We currently have vacancy in our Community Services  team for an experienced Community Projects Officer in Youth Development on a part time basis.  You will be responsible for enhancing  enhance Council's service provision, working in partnership with the community, non-government organisations and Government to promote the provision of human services that meet local needs as identified and prioritised by Council in an equitable manner.

The successful applicant will need to demonstrate their competency for the position by meeting the following essential criteria:

  • Relevant Degree or Diploma level qualifications in Social Science, Community Services, Welfare / Youth Studies field and 2 years relevant current work history.
  • Demonstrated ability and/or experience working with key target groups including Ageing, Disability, Children, Families and Young People, Aboriginal, Culturally and Linguistically Diverse and other marginalised groups.
  • Demonstrated commitment to strengths-based community development, social justice philosophy and practice with a demonstrated high level of understanding of current social issues and needs facing the community.
  • Demonstrated effectiveness in community project facilitation, management, monitoring and evaluation.
  • Current Class C Driver’s Licence.
  • Working with Children Clearance
