We have an exciting opportunity for a skilled Community Insights Planner to join Shellharbour City Council's Community Development team.
Working within the Community Planning team and reporting to the Team Leader Community Planning, this role will provide strategic community insights by identifying, researching, analysing and reporting on relevant sources and trends in order to drive positive change for the community.
Working closely with the Community Programs team and various other teams across Council, the role will help to: identify and understand key community needs, wants and opportunities; research and design effective strategies, policies and practices; and design, guide and support program evaluation through a strategic viewpoint.
In this role, you will drive an effective and skilled social research and analytics function to study and derive strategic community insights from a wide range of sources to support evidence-based decision making across the organisation. In addition, you will provide guidance and recommendations to inform land use planning enquiries using a social research approach.
The successful candidate will have a strong background in social research, data analysis and interpretation, evaluation and broader community planning functions to drive positive change for the community. You will have strong communication skills, to share complex information in easy-to-understand formats, in writing, visualisations and verbally.

- Permanent full time, 35 hours per week with access to flexi-time
- Commencing salary range from $86,720 - $90,223 per annum (based on qualifications, skills and experience)

Please Note:
- This position requires a National Police History Check clearance.
