How you’ll make a difference

Victoria Daly Regional Council is looking for a full-time Community Care Zone Coordinator - North based in Katherine, NT. 

As part of the Community Care team, the Community Care Zone Manager has an overall responsibility to provide workforce, service delivery and compliance support to the NATSIFAC, Home Care Program, Commonwealth Home Support Program and the National Disability Insurance Scheme programs within the North Zone. 

More specifically, your responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Management of the Aged Care programs (CHSP) Commonwealth Home Support program, (HCP) Home Care packages, (NATSIFAC) National Aboriginal Torres Strait Islander Flexible Aged Care, (IEI) Indigenous Employment Initiative program and (NDIS) National Disability Insurance Scheme within the North Zone.
  • Provide strategic advice and support to the Council CEO, Executive Management and Council Board of Management.
  • Manage, lead and develop high performance teams that are appropriately staffed with systems in place for professional development, performance management and attainable succession plan throughout the community services team.
  • Work in conjunction with the Community Care Zone Manager - South to ensure services delivery is of a high standard in both zones and achieve consistency.
  • Manage client records within the Zone using Etools, ensuring that all client information, pricing, and data are accurate and consistently updated.
  • Develop and implement strategic and operational plans for Aged Care and NDIS programs responding to the priories outlined in Councils Regional Plan.
  • Coordinate and communicate with clients, family, support network and other stakeholders regarding care and support needs.
  • Assist the Director of Community Services to develop business plans to deliver exceptional support to participants and to ensure continued growth of services.

As the Victoria Daly region has a large Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander population, you will need to ensure cultural sensitivity and awareness across all activities.

Additionally, you will join with the following skills and background:

  • Extensive experience in leadership roles in delivering high quality Aged Care services 
  • Demonstrated ability to manage and support high quality service delivery including achieving and maintaining registration and accreditation, strategic planning, financial management, business planning, staff mentoring, coaching and supervision.
  • A demonstrated ability to meet strict compliance requirements of the Aged Care Quality Safety Commision. and NDIS Quality Safeguards Commission. 
  • Full understanding of the Aged Care Quality Standards and NDIS Practice Standards.
  • Previous experience in working with Indigenous people or in situations requiring sensitivity to cultural differences.
  • Highly developed research, conceptual, analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrated experience in effectively developing and maintaining strategic relationships with stakeholders, including all levels of local government, other levels of government and the community.
  • Provide proved finance experience to develop and maintain program areas and meet strict compliance regulations in accordance with the Department of Health and NDIA.
