About the Role

As our Commercial Manager, you will oversee commercial operations and key partnerships across multiple global breeding programs. You’ll manage high-value client relationships, negotiate contracts, and lead a cross-functional team focused on strategic growth and operational excellence.

This role suits a proactive, strategic thinker with strong leadership skills and a deep understanding of the horticulture or agriculture industry.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead commercial strategy across international breeding partnerships.
  • Negotiate and manage head contracts, licensing, and service agreements.
  • Ensure compliance with audit and regulatory standards.
  • Oversee sales performance, market expansion, and customer retention strategies.
  • Collaborate across teams including Sales, Operations, and R&D.
  • Identify new business opportunities through market research and industry networking.
  • Drive continual improvement through staff development and industry training.

About You

  • Tertiary qualification in Agriculture, Horticulture, Business, or related field (Master’s preferred).
  • 5+ years in a commercial/agricultural management role.
  • Proven success in managing contracts and key accounts.
  • Strong understanding of plant breeding programs and nursery operations.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and relationship-building skills.
  • High level of organisation, attention to detail, and strategic problem-solving.
  • Proficient in business software and data tools.
  • Understanding of quality standards and sustainability practices.

Highly Regarded

  • Spanish language skills (spoken and written).
  • Background in science-based or horticultural industries.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $100,000.00 per year
