Expression of Interest

Council is currently seeking expressions of interest for a casual pool of administrative staff. This opportunity will enable you to work with various internal stakeholders while delivering customer service to the Bega Valley Shire Community.

As a Clerical Administration Officer, you will provide a range of tasks including, but not limited to: 

  • Undertake general administrative tasks as directed.
  • Prepare routine letters and correspondence.
  • Research and prepare reports and business papers.
  • Enter and retrieve data from information and records management systems. 
  • Interact with external customers in the provision of advice and dealing with customer enquiries.
  • Prepare agendas and write up minutes of meetings.

About You

We are seeking individuals who hold a Certificate III in Business Administration, or equivalent level qualification in a related discipline and have demonstrated experience providing general administration / customer service support. 

You will have the following skills and experience;

  • Knowledge and ability in the use of Microsoft Office software, including Word and Excel.
  • High-level written and verbal communication skills.
  • Knowledge and demonstrated experience in the use of records and database management systems.

Benefits

This recruitment is to establish a casual pool for Clerical Administration Officers. The positions will be engaged on an as-needed basis and may work varying hours across any department at Bega Valley Shire Council. There is no guarantee of employment.

The hourly remuneration package for this position ranges from $41.17 to $56.99 gross per hour depending on the work being undertaken.

  • $30.16 to $41.75 per hour base salary
  • $7.54 to $10.44 per hour casual loading
  • $3.47 to $4.80 per hour superannuation

Application Process

This recruitment process is designed to meet the administrative and operational needs of Bega Valley Shire Council. Following the recruitment close date, the panel will assess each application and endeavour to notify all candidates of an outcome within four (4) weeks. Shortlisted applicants will remain on file for a period of twelve (12) months and be re-assessed as a vacancy or operational need arises.
