THE SHIRE

Located in the Wheatbelt region, 85 kms northeast of Perth, the Shire of Toodyay is characterised by its rolling hills, fertile valleys and stunning wildflowers, and is internationally recognised for its biodiversity. With a population of over 4800 people, Toodyay is a popular place for visitors and tourists to connect with nature and represents a blend of history and progression. A vibrant community supports various festivals and events throughout the year including the world’s longest white-water race, the Avon Descent.

THE ROLE

The Shire’s next Chief Executive Officer will work closely with the Shire President, Council, the Executive Leadership Team and the community to implement the Shire’s strategic vision and objectives. You will provide strong, engaging leadership and prudent, timely advice on all relevant issues to Council with an emphasis on financial management, economic development and governance.

REQUIREMENTS

In order to guide the Shire and its community, you will need to be an outcomes-based leader with strong financial management, well-developed interpersonal and stakeholder management skills, and a commitment to governance and compliance. A community-minded professional with the desire and impetus to implement change will be the ideal candidate to guide this Shire, and a background in Local Government is desirable.

THE PACKAGE

The total reward package range offered in accordance with the SAT Band 3 role is $175,105 - $288,817 per annum, plus vehicle, under a performance-based contract of four years.
