The Opportunity

Lithgow City Council has an exciting opportunity for a Casual Labourer - Waste to join their team in Lithgow, NSW.

Reporting to the Senior Waste Facilities Officer, you will be responsible for to provide casual labour at Council’s waste facilities to prevent insanitary or environmentally hazardous conditions, provide safe access for customers, staff and contractors, to maintain amenity and to maximise resource recovery. You will ensure safety, environmental, public access and amenity standards are maintained for all rural landfill and transfer station sites including litter collection.

  • Commitment to honesty and integrity
  • Sense of civic pride/environmental responsibility

In addition, an ideal candidate would have:

  • Relevant experience in waste management and materials handling
  • First Aid Certificate
  • WH&S Induction for Construction Works Certificate (Whitecard) 
  • Asbestos Awareness Training
  • Willingness to undertake additional training

  • Between $32.67 and $35.27 per hour, commensurate with your skills, qualifications and experience
  • Casual on an as needs basis, including weekends as required
