We are looking for people who love working in the outdoors, to fill multiple Labourer/ Operator positions. Any skill level considered, the most important requirement is a can-do attitude and the physical ability to perform the role.
The Positions
These positions are hands-on, working with tools, rollers, water carts, excavators, backhoes, trucks and more, and will give you a great overall view of working for Council, with roles available right across Roads, Urban & Parks & Gardens.
If you have never worked in a similar role before, we offer training and development of your skills through a career development program. If you are experienced we’d love to see you slot into our teams and put your skills to good use from day 1.
The work is varied, and typically involves working on our highways & local road networks, as well as urban construction teams. Daily tasks include but are not limited to traffic control, verge and drainage work, as well as operating our plant, road rehabilitation, maintenance and lots more.

About You
Your most important skill will be your ability to work well in a team environment, follow instructions and your keenness to learn civil construction.
If you have experience with plant, let us know, if you don’t we will teach you. A valid Drivers Licence is a must, along with the fitness to carry out the job. You will be able to complete standard forms and be willing to get various training and certifications. A WHS General Construction Induction (White Card) is also a good start, and you will need to pass Council’s standard pre-employments checks. You may also be asked to be available for an on-call roster if required.

This is a casual position with variable work hours. The position falls under the Local Government (State) Award 2023, the actual pay rate will vary based on your previous experience and skills.
