Wollongong City Tourist Parks provide affordable holiday cabins, caravan and camping sites at Bulli, Corrimal and Windang Beach locations.

We are looking for Casual General Assistants to join our team at Wollongong City Tourist Parks. We require hands-on, proactive and enthusiastic individuals who utilise their initiative and problem-solving skills in a maintenance environment, where no two days are the same. As an essential member of the team, your role would be to ensure our Tourist Parks are maintained to a high standard and well presented to create a welcoming impression to our customers.

Workers with trade experience/skills are encouraged to apply. We require someone who can communicate with our guests and communicate with trades people working at the park. This position is physically demanding, and you must be capable of undertaking the duties as described in the job description.

Casual roles will require people to be called upon to fill ad hoc shifts as required. Salary from $34.53 per hour plus 25% casual loading and superannuation (salary package will be assessed based on skills, experience and qualifications).

These positions may require you to work at any of Council's Tourist Parks The hours of work will be from 8 am to 6 pm or 7.30 pm including School Holidays and the possibility of working weekends.

What you will be doing:

We are looking for enthusiastic, positive and motivated individuals to assist with the general running of the Tourist Parks.

The General Assistant position assists with various duties including grounds maintenance such as mowing, edging, whipper snipper, laying turf, gardening, watering etc.

The General Assistant also assists with maintenance tasks such as repairs to cabins, general cleaning of amenity blocks, camp kitchen, plus other duties as they may arise and directed to by your supervisor.

About you

  • You are enthusiastic, positive, motivated who uses your initiative to get things done.
  • You will have strong interpersonal skills and confidence as you will be communicating with park patrons.
  • You have experience with cleaning and maintenance in a commercial environment.
  • You can work independently and as part of a small team.
