About the Role
This is a permanent full time position working 38 hours per week (Monday to Friday, 7:00am to 4:00pm) over a 9 day fortnight at the Bombaderry Works Depot.
This is a permanent full time position working 38 hours per week (Monday to Friday, 7:00am to 4:00pm) over a 9 day fortnight at the Bombaderry Works Depot.
This position is responsible for the construction, maintenance and repairs of Council's building assets to a high quality and standard, within time and budget constraints. These carpentry duties include:
- Coordinating and supervising employees and/or contractors on project sites as required.
- Preparing industry relevant reports such as building assessment and vandalism reports with details on repair methods and costing.
- Installation and maintenance of a diverse range of activities including concreting, roofing, plastering, windows, bricklaying, structural landscaping, welding.
Being available to be on-call and complete reasonable overtime is a requirement of this position.
Skills & Experience
To be successful in the position, you will have:

- Carpentry Trade Certificate
- Extensive experience in the building industry
- General Construction Induction Card NSW (White Card)
- Elevated Work Platform certificate or ability and willingness to obtain
- Asbestos Removal certificate or ability and willingness to obtain
- Chainsaw (crosscut) certificate or ability and willingness to obtain
- Quick cut Saw certificate or ability and willingness to obtain
We are looking for someone with critical thinking skills who can assess situations and determine processes and solutions to problems.
