About The Role

Band 4 – base salary from $115,000 + Super

Are you an experienced

Finance Analyst who is passionate about energy, financial modelling and evaluating complex financial decisions? Are you curious with a general willingness to solve problems and translate data into meaningful insights?

We are seeking an enthusiastic team member who enjoys being challenged at work to join our Regulatory Finance and Investment Governance team.

In this role you will contribute to high-quality regulatory finance and investment governance outcomes that matter — supporting the decisions that shape how Tasmania's electricity network is planned, funded and reported.

You will be exposed to financial modelling, regulatory reporting and investment governance processes, and will be required to communicate analysis and advice clearly to stakeholders at all levels of the business.

About You

The successful candidate will have knowledge of and experience in financial analysis with tertiary qualifications in a numerical discipline (finance, business, economics or accounting). You will be competent in financial modelling, with strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and the Broader Microsoft Office Suite.

A proven understanding and working knowledge of commercial, economic, finance and accounting principles is essential. Identifying and implementing process improvement to enhance efficiency, quality, and overall business performance.

Exposure to economic regulation, regulatory reporting or the operating environment of a regulated entity would be highly regarded, as would familiarity with investment governance frameworks and processes.

You would also have –

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively across all levels of the business
  • Proven track record of translating complex financial data and analysis into clear, actionable insights for non-financial stakeholders
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy and continuous learning
  • The ability to manage competing priorities and deliver quality outcomes within required timeframes
