About us

Total Plant Hire is a proudly WA-owned and family-run business based in Pinjarra, servicing the mining, civil, and earthmoving industries across Australia since 2008. With a fleet of more than 600 pieces of equipment, we pride ourselves on delivering reliable, well-maintained machinery backed by quality workmanship, strong safety standards, and responsive service.

About the role

Reporting to the Workshop Supervisor at our Pinjarra workshop, you'll work across a solid mix of makes in our light-to-heavy commercial vehicle fleet including Isuzu, CAT, Toyota and more. The work spans mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and air brake systems with genuine scope for diagnostic work rather than the same routine service on repeat.

About you

  • Previous experience servicing and maintaining heavy trucks and commercial vehicles

  • Experience working on Isuzu, CAT and/or Toyota vehicles

  • Strong understanding of mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and air brake systems

  • Strong troubleshooting, diagnostic and fault-finding experience

  • Ability to read and interpret schematics and manuals

  • High attention to detail, strong work ethic, and a genuine commitment to safety

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a close-knit team

  • Current WA Drivers Licence (HR desirable)

  • Ability to pass a pre-employment medical and drug and alcohol screening

Desirable:

  • Forklift license

What we offer:

  • Competitive rate based on experience plus super

  • Permanent full-time position

  • Day shifts only — no nights, no FIFO

  • Flexible roster: Monday–Friday or 10 days on / 4 days off

  • Workshop based in Pinjarra — home every night

  • Stable work with a business that's been operating since 2008

  • Large and growing fleet that keeps the work interesting

Applicants must hold full working rights in Australia, be based in the Peel or Perth metro area, and be available to undergo a pre-employment medical including drug and alcohol screening. A current police clearance may also be requested.
