ABOUT THE ROLEÂ
- Exposure to various job roles including - Security Engineer, Security Analyst, Threat Detection Engineer and Cyber Threat Intelligence (CTI) AnalystÂ
- Track and analyse security alerts from tools like SIEM, EDR, SOAR, Canaries, and Firewalls.
- Identify and assess potential threats, recommend fixes, and help coordinate responses with internal and external teams.
- Write clear reports and perform quality checks on playbooks and documentation.
- Build strong working relationships with peers and clients to ensure smooth teamwork and support.
- Help improve tools and processes, while staying up to date with cybersecurity trends
- Requirement to work in shifts, includes weekend and overnight shiftwork.
ABOUT YOU
- Final-year student or recent graduate in Cybersecurity, IT, Computer Science, or related discipline (graduating by end of 2026).
- Proven leadership through work experience, internships, or extracurriculars.
- Skilled communicator who thrives in team settings and engages stakeholders effectively.
- Organised, efficient and adaptable, capable of juggling multiple priorities with ease.
- Problem Solving mindset with experience in evaluating security incidents and crafting thoughtful responses.
- Self-driven learner excited by the cybersecurity space.
AUSTRALIAN DEFENCE ROLES & SECURITY
A Defence security clearance is required for this role. Applicants must be Australian citizens and eligible to obtain and maintain a clearance.

In some cases, individuals who hold a current clearance from a foreign government may be eligible to have this clearance recognised by the Australian Government and be eligible for this role.
