Working from our architecturally designed Administration Building in central Maitland and we currently have an exciting opportunity for two Business Support Officers to join a dynamic team on a 12 month temporary contract.

About the role

The Business Support Officer will be responsible for providing administrative and technical support to Council's Planning and Environment group.

As a Business Support Officer for the Development & Compliance section, you will leverage your analytical and high-level administration skills to provide technical support to internal stakeholders across a variety of functions including development applications, construction certificates, subdivision applications, compliance matters and Council's fire safety program.

As one of Council's Business Support Officers, you will also be accountable for directly liaising with external stakeholders on a daily basis and will play an integral role in delivering an exceptional customer experience to Council's customers.

About you

To be successful in this role, you will be an energetic individual that can effectively communicate across a diverse workforce and engage with all levels of staff and stakeholders.

You will possess strong organisational and administrative skills in the Microsoft Office Suite including a demonstrated ability to prioritise, and work productively to contribute to team goals whilst aligning yourself with Councils' Guiding Principles.

You will have a Certificate III in Business Administration (or equivalent) or contemporary industry knowledge and experience in administration across a multi-disciplinary environment. You will also hold a current Class C drivers licence.

Although not essential to success, previous experience working within a Local Government environment - particularly within the functions of development and compliance - would help you hit the ground running in this role. Previous experience with the NSW Planning Portal will be highly regarded.

We have two roles available as a 12 month contract, full-time position with a salary range of $68,669 up to $76,222 per year commensurate to experience + 11.5% superannuation.
