About the position:
The City has an exciting opportunity for a motivated and experienced trade person to join our Property Services branch as a Building Maintenance Officer.

The Building Maintenance Officer provide professional maintenance services, minor capital improvements, and installation programs to support an effective and high quality outcome for City owned building facilities.

Key accountabilities:
• Conduct scheduled and ad-hoc maintenance to City owned buildings as directed by the Building Maintenance Planner in a professional manner.

• Identify and report all maintenance issues, including initial assessments and recommendations to the Building Maintenance Team for action and recording.

• Conduct pre-start/use inspections of plant and equipment on a daily basis and report all faults/defects to the Building Maintenance Planner.

• Proactively undertake regular inspections of City owned building assets and determine priorities in conjunction with the Building Maintenance Supervisor.

Position requirements:

The City is looking for a candidate who holds trade qualification (preferably carpentry) and industry experience in building maintenance. The successful candidate will have the ability to undertake building maintenance projects with knowledge and consistent compliance with work health and safety practices.

Completion of a pre-employment medical including alcohol and other substances testing is required of all positions at the City.

Remuneration and benefits:

A salary ranging from $78,497 per annum will be offered dependent on knowledge, skills, experience and qualifications.
