This is a 6 month fixed term, part-time (0.92 FTE) position commencing Term 3, 2026 with possible extension (6 months) and/or permanency

Broome Primary School (PS) actively promotes a culture that strives to maintain positive and respectful relationships with students, parents and the wider community. Broome is located on the shores of Roebuck Bay in the Kimberley region of Australia. It is 2200kms away from Perth, the capital city of Western Australia. Broome has an interesting history based around the exploits of the men and women who developed the pearling industry in the 1880s. This history has created a population that is a unique blend of Asian, European and Indigenous cultures. Broome is rich in Aboriginal culture and is the traditional home of the Yawuru and Djugun people.

The Role

As a Mainstream Education Assistant, you will be responsible for assisting in the delivery of planned education programs, including managing small groups of students under the direction of the teacher that will help in the development of young minds and support the general health and wellbeing of students.

The successful applicant will also assist with the preparation and maintenance of the learning environment by maintaining equipment, materials and resources for use in classes, displays and demonstrations and will assist the teacher with the clean and safe storage of items after classes and activities. The successful applicant should have the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment, as well as possess good written and oral communication skills to enable the implementation of individual or small group-based programs.
