Casual position

Salary from : $36.10 per hour plus 25% casual loading and superannuation. (Salary package will be assessed based on skills, experience and qualifications.)

About the role

Do you have a background in audio-visual technical production activities and have a passion working with youth services?

We are looking for motivated and experienced audio-visual technicians to join our Youth Services team servicing across the Wollongong Local Government Area. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in the installation, maintenance, and operation of AV equipment in professional entertainment and corporate settings.

This role requires excellent technical skills, adaptability to new technologies, and a customer-focused approach. You will facilitate the technical delivery of live music, recording and entertainment programs and exciting projects. You will also be facilitating the installation, operation, and maintenance of audio and visual equipment for indoor and outdoor events.

Under Part 2, Section 6 of the Child Protection (Working With Children) Act 2012, this position has been designated as requiring a paid NSW Working With Children Check. Applicants are required to provide a NSW Working with Children Check application/clearance reference number to their application.

This position involves undertaking manual tasks relating to the set-up of Audio-Visual equipment. Applicants should be physically capable to undertake the duties as outlined in the job. Evening and Weekend work will be a requirement of this role

What you will be doing:

In this role, you will install, configure, and maintain audio visual equipment, including projectors, sound systems, video conferencing tools, and lighting at the Wollongong Youth Centre. You will be responsible for troubleshooting and resolving technical issues promptly to minimise downtime and ensure seamless operation. Collaborating with clients to understand their AV needs and provide customised solutions is essential. Additionally, you will conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance of AV systems to ensure optimal performance. Provide guidance and support on safe use of equipment for staff and young people on the use of AV equipment and providing technical support as needed will be part of your duties. Staying updated with industry trends and adapting to new technologies is crucial for continually improving service delivery. You will also need to demonstrate excellent problem-solving skills and initiative in high-pressure situations. Flexibility to work non-standard hours, including evenings and weekends, to meet client needs and project deadlines is required.
