About the role

This position is a full time role in the Finance team and is based at the Moruya Administration Office. The Assets Accountant will be required to maintain and control Council’s Fixed Assets financial records and accounting for inventory.                    

Your main duties will include:

  • Administering and developing the Fixed Assets accounting system in line with legal and accounting requirements.
  • Collaborate with the Infrastructure Assets team to meet reporting requirements and ensure efficient information processes within agreed timeframes.
  • Manage and lead accounting for inventory and provision of support in relation to inventory systems.
  • Provide budgetary data for fixed assets, assist with quarterly reviews, and assist with financial data requests from AusRoads and the Grants Commission.
  • Manage the Finance Officer (Assets) and related duties in consultation with the Financial Accountant.

Salary Information

Total remuneration for the role is in the range $91,853.58 to $100,809.69 gross per annum consisting of:

  • $82,379.89 to $90,412.28 base salary
  • $9,473.69 to $10,397.41 superannuation (calculated at 11.5%)

A satisfactory outcome as a result of a National Criminal History Record Check is required for appointment to this position.

About you

To be our successful candidate, you will have extensive experience in accounting requirements particularly relating to accounting for stores, stock control and assets. Your strong interpersonal skills and excellent time management skills will set you up for success in this role as will your ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.   • Ability to liaise with key stakeholders and strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Knowledge of modern accounting software applications, including systems relevant to asset and stock accounting requirements.
  • Ability to supervise staff and effectively coordinate workloads and manage performance.
