About the Role

The Asset & GIS Projects Officer will develop and deliver the Council's Asset Management and Geographic Information System (GIS).

Working with the Asset Management Lead, the Asset Officer is responsible for the management of asset & GIS systems and the delivery of associated projects and services that contribute to the delivery of the City of Palmerston Community Plan, including:

• Asset data collection, management and analysis
• Asset and GIS system management
• Infrastructure condition assessment and renewal programs
• Asset Management Plan improvements

What you need:

  • Certificate level qualifications in GIS or asset management, or equivalent
  • A minimum of two-years work experience in data management, preferably in asset management and with GIS
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy, with experience in data management relating to assets
  • Good oral and written communication skills
  • Knowledge or experience in project management, with the ability to solve complex problems
  • Demonstrated experience in management of data, including the presentation of information to stakeholders
  • Knowledge of asset management principles and ISO 55000 standards
  • Advanced skills in data management and processing, including MS Office – Excel
  • Experience in FME - desirable
