About the role

Clarence Valley Council has a unique opportunity for an Asset Management Officer who can demonstrate knowledge of asset lifecycle costs, planning and database management.

We are looking for someone with good customer service skills to engage internally, high level computer literacy including the Microsoft Suites and asset management systems.

Do you have the ability to work closely with our Project Managers and asset custodians to investigate and review asset attributes, components and capitalisation? If this sounds like you, we are waiting for you to apply.

To be considered for this position you will need to:

  • Address the essential criteria
  • Attach a cover letter (2 pages maximum) and an up-to-date resume (5 pages maximum) that clearly details your skills & experience as relevant to this position. You will need to demonstrate how you meet the focus capabilities and how your skills will enable you to achieve the key accountabilities.
  • Target questions - answer the 3 target questions - maximum 300 words each question
    Q1. Provide a workplace example that demonstrates how you approach collaboration with internal stakeholders across different sections to achieve a specific outcome.
    Q2. Explain what essential information you believe needs to be held in an asset database and why?
    Q3. Some problems require developing a unique approach. Tell us about a time when you were able to develop a different problem-solving approach and what the result was.

Other important information

This position is located at Council's Rushforth Road Works Depot, however, this may change should business needs identify other work locations to be more appropriate to deliver our services in the future.

A probation period applies to this position.
