About the opportunity
Are you passionate about driving excellence in civil and environmental infrastructure projects? We're seeking a proactive Asset Investigation Officer to join our Works and Infrastructure team. This role is pivotal in ensuring the successful delivery of Council’s infrastructure projects, including stormwater drainage, bridges, culverts, roads, and traffic and transport facilities. As an Asset Investigation Officer, your primary objective is to develop project briefs for the delivery of Council’s civil and environmental infrastructure. You will also play a crucial role in mentoring and providing professional advice to engineers within the Infrastructure Unit.
Some key accountabilities for this role are:
- Provide effective mentoring across the Infrastructure Unit, offering guidance on project management, contract administration, and construction management and surveillance advice.
- Assist in developing team goals and priorities to ensure organizational outcomes are achieved efficiently.
- Use ,maintain and further develop Cessnock City Council’s Project Management Framework for the delivery of infrastructure as well as non-build projects.
- Foster a constructive and customer-focused team environment.

Remuneration:
$103,318 - $118,815 per annum plus superannuation and a lease back vehicle.

About You:
To succeed in this role, the successful candidate should possess a degree in Civil Engineering, Project Management or relevant tertiary qualifications and must have compressive experience in civil engineering, focusing on civil works and Project Management. Experience managing both straightforward and intricate municipal infrastructure projects is essential and proficiency in recognised Project Management methodologies is also crucial for effective performance in this position.
