Aquatics Program Officer

With two centres located in Maitland and East Maitland, the facilities offer a combination of indoor and outdoor pools, an aquatic playground and children wading pools, viewing grandstands and park areas, making the centres a popular leisure, play, education and fitness destination for the region.

About you
We are seeking enthusiastic and experienced Learn to Swim Instructors to join our team. The ideal candidates will have a passion for teaching and a commitment to providing a safe, fun, and educational environment for swimmers of all ages and abilities. You will be responsible for delivering high-quality swim instruction, ensuring the safety of all participants, and fostering a positive learning atmosphere.

As a key contact for all program enrolments and bookings across the Aquatics Centres, this role requires a customer service focus, with the ability to build effective relationships with stakeholders including parents, program participants and aquatic centre patrons.

About the role
It is essential that you hold a current AUSTSWIM (Teacher of swimming and water safety) or Royal Life/ SCTA equivalent, CPR certificate, First Aid certificate, current class C drivers Licence, and a current Working With Children Check Clearance number.

Key Requirements of the Learn to Swim role include:
- Plan and deliver swim lessons to individuals and groups
- Develop personalized lesson plans based on the needs and abilities of each student
- Ensure the safety and well-being of all participants during swim sessions
- Provide clear and constructive feedback to students and their guardians
- Maintain a clean and organized pool area and ensure all equipment is used properly
- Keep accurate records of student progress and attendance
- Communicate effectively with parents/guardians about their child's progress and any concerns
- Promote water safety and swimming skills in a fun and engaging manner
- Work as a team to support the smooth running of the lessons and aquatics centre

The Role
This is a casual role, with an open span of hours from Monday to Sunday.
