What you need to know...

  • Temporary full time - 76 hours per fortnight
  • location - Townsend 
  • 9 day fortnight
  • Apprenticeship to commence in early 2025

About the role

We are excited to offer an opportunity for an enthusiastic and dedicated individual to join our team as an Apprentice Fitter. This role is ideal for someone looking to start a rewarding career in the engineering and maintenance field while gaining hands-on experience and valuable skills.

Key Responsibilities: Assist qualified fitters in the servicing, maintenance, and repair of Council machinery and equipment. Learn to interpret technical drawings, schematics, and manuals. Participate in the installation and testing of machinery components. Maintain a clean and safe working environment, adhering to safety protocols and regulations. Collaborate with team members on various projects and tasks. Complete required coursework and training as part of the apprenticeship program. 

A Drivers Licence is not essential but you must have reliable transport as you will be required to travel to attend Tafe.

Other important information

This position is located at Council's Townsend Depot, however, this may change should business needs identify other work locations to be more appropriate to deliver our services in the future.

A probation period applies to this position.
