Position Title: Disability Support Worker

About the Role

The Courageous Dinosaur and Me is seeking a reliable, experienced, and client-focused Disability Support Worker to join our team in Rockhampton. This role involves supporting both children and adults with varying support needs across community, in-home, and centre-based environments.

The initial engagement will be on a casual basis for a 2-month probation period. Upon successful completion, there is an opportunity to transition into a part-time position.

Key Responsibilities

Provide person-centred support to children and adults in line with individual care plans
Assist with daily living activities, including personal care where required
Support clients to engage in social, recreational, and community-based activities
Promote independence, skill development, and emotional wellbeing
Maintain accurate and timely progress notes and documentation
Work collaboratively with families, carers, and allied professionals
Ensure all work is performed in accordance with NDIS standards and organisational policies

Mandatory Requirements

Current Blue Card (Working with Children Check)
Current Yellow Card (NDIS Worker Screening Check)
Valid Australian Driver’s Licence (unrestricted)
Reliable, insured personal vehicle available for work use
Proven experience working in the disability support sector
Ability to work with both children and adult participants

Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to manage challenging behaviours in a calm and professional manner
Reliable, punctual, and able to work autonomously
Genuine commitment to improving quality of life for people with disabilities

Desirable (but not mandatory)

Relevant qualifications (e.g., Certificate III or IV in Disability, Individual Support, or similar)
Experience working with neurodiverse clients and/or complex needs
