The Opportunity

This role offers the chance to contribute to a high‑performing federal government program by providing expert financial management, analysis and advice. You will play a key role in ensuring compliance, supporting decision‑making and strengthening financial performance across a complex operating environment.

Responsibilities Include:

Managing financial activities in line with Commonwealth frameworks and policiesProviding accurate, timely financial reporting and analysisSupporting budgeting, forecasting and financial planning processesAdvising stakeholders on financial risks, compliance and performanceContributing to continuous improvement and high‑quality financial governanceEngaging collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders, including Defence where required

About You

You are an experienced financial management professional with strong knowledge of Commonwealth financial frameworks and a proven ability to deliver accurate, reliable financial advice in a fast‑paced environment. You work well in high‑performing teams, communicate clearly and bring a proactive, solutions‑focused approach.

You Bring:

Tertiary qualifications in Finance, Accounting, Commerce or Business, or 5+ years’ Commonwealth financial management experienceDefence financial management and reportingStrategic engagementTeam leadershipStaff development
