In this role, you'll:

 

• Support apprentices across the full apprenticeship lifecycle, ensuring on‑the‑job training aligns with the required units of competency.

• Deliver hands‑on, competency‑based mentoring through regular site visits, coaching, progress monitoring, feedback and support.

• Work as part of the Apprentice Unit to support recruitment activities, pre‑apprenticeship programs and continuous improvement of training outcomes.

About you

 

You bring demonstrated experience in a relevant trade discipline and hold the essential qualifications, authorisations and/or licences, relevant to the program you are supporting.

We have two temporary positions available (up to 24 months): 

• Workplace Mentor, Electrical (Signals) - You hold a Certificate IV in Rail Signalling (UEE41223), in addition to your Certificate III in Electrotechnology (UEE30820)  or hold a Certificate III in Electrotechnology and a Qualified Supervisor Certificate.

• Workplace Mentor, Electrical (Rail Overhead Line Workers / Rail-traction) - You hold a Certificate III - ESI - Rail Traction (UET30721).

You have a positive, supportive mentoring mindset and are comfortable guiding apprentices through coaching and hands-on development. You're also collaborative and adaptable and able to work to program objective.

You hold a current Australian driver’s licence and Working with Children Check (or willingness to obtain). A Certificate IV in Training and Assessment is desirable but not essential.

The positions are based on-site at Clyde. Regular travel is required to provide on‑the‑job, one‑on‑one mentoring to apprentices across multiple sites and depots.
