Join our Work Health and Safety team based in Tweed Heads to provide administrative support, including Injury Management, Health and Wellbeing and Work Health and Safety functions. The role offers diverse tasks and activities, ranging from the fundamental administration requirements to supporting project delivery.

About the role:

  • maintain all WHS registers, and databases
  • generate WHS reports and collate data to produce reporting metrics
  • contribute to the delivery of WHS projects and health and wellbeing programs
  • provide support to safety committees and corporate meetings by generating reports, agendas and minutes.

We are seeking:

  • experience working in a generalist HR environment, using electronic record management and human resources information systems
  • understanding of the WHS and / or Injury Management functions
  • attention to detail, flexibility and the capacity to respond to a busy work environment
  • strong written and verbal communication skills

This position is based in Tweed Heads and can be directed to work from any Council work site.

Essential:

1. Experience working in a generalist HR environment, using electronic record management and human resources information systems.

2. Well-developed written and oral communication skills with a focus on providing strong customer service.

3. Demonstrated organisational and time management skills with the ability to establish priorities, manage workloads and identify when to reschedule and reorganise work to reflect changes in priority.

4. Capacity to work within a team environment, share knowledge and provide support in times of increased workloads.

5. A high-level competence with Microsoft 365 applications and the capacity to learn corporate applications.

6. Demonstrated ability to use initiative, research HR related issues and apply sound judgement to contribute to decision making and continuous improvements in the HR team.

7. Demonstrated experience in interpreting and providing policy and procedure advice.

Desirable:

8. Certification in HR, business administration, work health and safety, training and assessment, or other relevant qualification.

9. Experience within a local government environment or an understanding of local government functions and procedures.
