We are seeking an experienced Administrative Officer to join our team in a permanent full-time position.

As part of the Development Assessment and Compliance team, this role will put to use your administration experience to ensure a high level of customer service to the team and our internal and external clients. 

The role lodges development applications, sub-division work certificates, strata applications and includes preparing the notices of determination for development applications and associated ancillary applications. 

The position requires excellent organisation skills and an ability to prioritise a busy workload and manage conflicting tasks. You will have advanced attention to detail and excellent communication skills in order to build strong relationships and collaborations with our stakeholders.

  • a base salary ranging from $60,315 per annum with competency-based increments up to $69,105 per annum, plus 11.5% super

           (Salary as proposed by the NSW Local Government (State) Award increase effective from July 2024)

We are seeking:

  • TAFE certificate studies or equivalent
  • competence in Microsoft office suite and record management and finance systems
  • competence in a range of administrative support activities
  • proven capacity to manage workloads and competing priorities

Where it's located:

This position is based in Murwillumbah and can be directed to work from any Council work site.

Essential:

1. TAFE certificate studies or equivalent.

2. Demonstrated competence in the use of word processing in the Windows environment including a high level of competence in the operation of Microsoft Word, the Microsoft Office package, Council's Record Management System, Proclaim, Finance 1 and Microsoft FrontPage.

3. Demonstrated competence in a wide range of administrative support activities to a range of professional officers.

4. Demonstrated well developed written and verbal communication skills.

5. Demonstrated capacity to manage workloads and competing priorities effectively.
