Permanent HR Coordinator opportunity in Cairns with The Airport Development Group

We are seeking a proactive and highly organised Human Resources Coordinator to join Airport Development Group (ADG) in Cairns on a permanent basis, with an ASAP start available.This is an excellent opportunity for a recent HR graduate or someone early in their HR career looking to build their experience in a broad operational role. Previous practical HR experience is essential. However, ADG is open to candidates who are still developing their career and looking for an opportunity to grow.

Your new role 
Working within the People and Culture team, you will support the efficient delivery of HR services across the employee life cycle. Your responsibilities will include:

• Coordinating onboarding, probation reviews, employee changes, internal transfers and separations
• Preparing employment documentation, letters, forms and HR correspondence
• Maintaining accurate employee information across HR and payroll systems
• Managing employee files, position information and confidential HR records
• Monitoring HR workflows and following up outstanding documentation and approvals
• Providing routine HR systems support to managers and employees
• Completing data checks and assisting with system discrepancies
• Preparing workforce reports, dashboards and employee data
• Maintaining position descriptions, organisational charts and establishment records
• Supporting remuneration reviews, HR projects and process improvements
• Assisting with HR system testing, documentation and user guides
• Working closely with Payroll, Finance, IT and other internal stakeholders

What you'll need to succeed 
To be successful in this position, you will have:

• A relevant qualification in Human Resources, Business, Psychology, Commerce or a related discipline, or be currently completing one
• Previous practical experience within an HR environment
• An understanding of employee lifecycle processes and contemporary HR practices
• Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records
• Confidence working with data, reports and business documentation
• Strong written communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines
• Proficiency across Microsoft 365, particularly Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Teams
• Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and confidentiality
• A proactive approach with strong problem-solving skills
• Exposure to HRIS, ATS, Power BI or other enterprise systems will be highly regarded
