    fortnight)

    fortnight) for a period of six (6) months from start date with
    possible extension or permanency
  • Level Two |*Salary: $64,384 to $72,452 pro rata per
    annum, plus superannuation

The opportunity

Our Seniors Centre is looking for talented and enthusiastic
individuals to fill the positions of Assistant Cook (1 x permanent
part time and 1 x temporary part time contract) 

These roles are challenging and rewarding, and innovation will
be encouraged, as the team provides a high-level food and catering
service to seniors and other clients of the Centre.

As an Assistant Cook, you will be responsible for:

  • assisting the Centre Chef and other kitchen staff with the
    preparation, storage and distribution of food
  • achieving a high standard of customer service
  • ensuring corporate responsibilities are adhered to
  • ensuring work health and safety requirements are observed
    and adhered to.

To be successful in these roles, you will
need:

  • experience in the hospitality industry
  • Food Safety Certificate I (SITXFSA005) or ability to
    obtain
  • cooking and food preparation skills
  • knowledge of commercial cookery equipment (Commercial
    Cookery qualifications are highly desirable)
  • the ability to follow directions from the Centre Chef
  • the ability to work safely in a kitchen environment
  • good personal hygiene
  • good hand-eye coordination
  • good communication and interpersonal skills
  • the ability to work as part of a team
  • the ability to enjoy practical, hands-on work
  • a strong commitment to customer service and community
    engagement.

  • *The salary for this role commences at step 1, with
    potential for movement within the range based on demonstrated
    skills and experience. Incremental progression typically occurs
    at the conclusion of each 12-month period, in accordance with
    the Industrial Agreement.
