About the roleÂ
The Administration Officer (Grade 1), Surgical Specialist Clinics is responsible for the delivery of consumer-focused administrative support that ensures equity of access throughout the patients Journey within Surgical Specialist clinics
Key ResponsibilitiesÂ
- Deliver professional reception and customer service support to patients, carers, staff, and referrers.
- Manage appointments, referrals, bookings, and patient information using the iPM Patient Administration System.
- Coordinate with GPs, specialists, interpreters, and diagnostic providers to support efficient clinic operations.
- Provide accurate administrative support while maintaining compliance with Barwon Health policies and confidentiality requirements.

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with patients, families, and healthcare professionals.
- Demonstrated high-level customer service skills, computer literacy, and confidence using health technologies and systems.
- Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills, with a positive, motivated, and flexible approach to work.
- Ability to adapt to a variety of administrative duties and work rostered shifts to support operational needs.
