Role Description

We are seeking an experienced Rehabilitation Counsellor to join our growing team and deliver occupational rehabilitation services across WorkCover Queensland (WCQ), icare, ORAMS and Comcare.

This opportunity would suit an experienced Rehabilitation Counsellor with strong knowledge across multiple schemes who is confident working autonomously and has the capability and interest to take on broader leadership responsibilities.

In this contract role, you will:

• Deliver Same Employer and New Employer workplace rehabilitation services

• Manage psychological, physical and complex rehabilitation cases

• Conduct workplace rehabilitation assessments and develop tailored return-to-work plans

• Liaise with workers, employers, insurers, treating practitioners and other key stakeholders

• Manage your caseload independently while working collaboratively with the broader LHS team

• Apply your knowledge of scheme requirements to support high-quality and compliant service delivery

• Contribute to positive and sustainable return-to-work outcomes

We are particularly interested in experienced Rehabilitation Counsellors who bring strong leadership capability and enjoy supporting the development of others.

Qualifications & Experience

• Relevant qualification in Rehabilitation Counselling

• Eligibility for relevant professional membership/accreditation

• Minimum 3 years' occupational rehabilitation experience preferred

• Team Leader or rehabilitation leadership experience highly regarded

• Strong working knowledge and experience across WCQ, icare, ORAMS and Comcare

• Experience managing psychological, physical and complex rehabilitation cases

• Demonstrated leadership skills, with the ability to support, guide and mentor other consultants

• Strong clinical reasoning, problem-solving and decision-making skills

• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills

• Ability to provide guidance on complex files and scheme requirements

• Strong commitment to quality, compliance and consistent service delivery

• Ability to work autonomously, manage competing priorities and effectively manage your own caseload

Requirements

• Current National Police Check

• Valid driver's licence and access to a vehicle

• Capacity to complete face-to-face workplace rehabilitation assessments

• Appropriate professional registration/accreditation and insurances
