About the role

Yarram Veterinary Centre has positions available for experienced Veterinary Surgeons, recognized by the Australasian Veterinary Boards Council, interested in contributing to a busy South Gippsland mixed practice. The practice has serviced the district for more than 50 years and under new ownership since 2019, has expanded services together with a recent relocation to a new expansive clinic. We operate a true 50/50 (large animal/small animal) practice Monday to Saturday but also provide 24/7 emergency service. Being in a rural area, your patient load would not only include general small animal species but also exotics. On the large animal side, our primary industries are dairy, beef, sheep and general equine.

Key responsibilities

• Provide veterinary services across mixed practice (50% large animal, 50% small animal)
• Treat general small animal species and exotics
• Provide large animal veterinary services for dairy, beef, sheep and equine
• Participate in 24/7 emergency service roster
• Contribute to afterhours rosters

About you

• Recognized by the Australasian Veterinary Boards Council
• Experienced Veterinary Surgeon
• Knowledge of farm management practices particularly in the dairy industry and other livestock production systems would be an advantage
• Eligible for Specific Registration under the Veterinary Practitioners Registration Board of Victoria
