Greenbank operates across two complementary areas of the renewable energy market.

On the front end, we process and aggregate certificates from more than 20,000 solar, battery, and energy efficiency installations annually, helping installers, homeowners, and businesses unlock value through Australia’s environmental incentive schemes.

On the back end, we manage the trading and sale of certificates to Australia’s largest retailers, emitters, and liable entities ensuring compliance obligations are met while optimising commercial outcomes for our clients.

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Compliance Manager to join our team on a part-time basis (3 days per week). The role works closely with the Operations Manager, and internal auditing team, ensuring strong governance and regulatory compliance across the business.

This role oversees compliance for the aggregation and creation of environmental certificates generated through installations completed by homeowners, installers, and retailers.

The role has a strong focus on compliance within the Victorian Energy Upgrades (VEU) Program and Clean Energy Regulator (CER) frameworks, while strengthening internal risk management and operational compliance processes.

The position is primarily office-based in Mount Eliza. A hybrid arrangement may be considered for the right applicant with demonstrated experience in energy market compliance or regulatory frameworks.

Greenbank already maintains well-established and high compliance standards across its operations. This role is not about building compliance from scratch, but about strengthening and evolving an already robust framework.

The successful candidate will take a proactive and adaptive approach, providing independent assurance, pressure-testing existing controls, and ensuring quality control across compliance processes. You will help refine and improve current systems, ensuring they remain effective as regulatory expectations evolve.

Working closely with the Operations Manager, and internal audit functions, the role will focus on continuous improvement, proactive risk identification, and strengthening operational ownership of compliance obligations across the business.

Regulatory Compliance

  • Interpret legislation and regulatory requirements under the Victorian Energy Upgrades (VEU) Program and Clean Energy Regulator (CER) frameworks.

  • Provide clear compliance advice to internal teams and external stakeholders.

  • Maintain and manage the organisation’s compliance obligations register, ensuring it remains current and meaningful.

  • Support regulatory engagement, reporting, and regulator interactions where required.

Risk Management & Controls

  • Strengthen first-line risk ownership across operational teams.

  • Expand controls testing across the business, covering both design and operating effectiveness.

  • Build and maintain breach escalation protocols that operate effectively under pressure.

  • Develop Key Risk Indicator (KRI) dashboards and deliver clear, practical risk reporting to the leadership team.

Continuous Improvement & Operational Support

  • Identify opportunities to strengthen compliance frameworks and improve operational processes.

  • Work collaboratively with operational teams to embed compliance into day-to-day activities.

  • Provide practical guidance to ensure regulatory requirements are clearly understood and consistently applied.

About You

  • Experience in compliance, governance, risk, or regulatory affairs, ideally within the renewable energy, solar, or energy efficiency sectors.

  • Strong ability to interpret legislation and regulatory frameworks and translate them into practical business processes.

  • Experience with the Victorian Energy Upgrades (VEU) program and/or Clean Energy Regulator (CER) schemes is highly desirable.

  • Immediate start
