Management Accountant | FIFO from Cairns | 12-Month Contract

Your new company 
An exciting opportunity is available for a Management Accountant to join a leading resources operation based outside Cloncurry on a 12-month temporary contract.
Working closely with the site's Commercial and Finance teams, you’ll play a key role in cost reporting, budgeting, forecasting and providing meaningful financial insights to support operational decision-making.
Your new role 
You will be responsible for:

• Month-end accounting and management reporting
• Cost reporting, budgeting and forecasting
• Analysing performance and investigating budget variances
• Supporting monthly cost reviews with operational managers
• Assisting with financial modelling, capital expenditure and fixed assets
• Supporting statutory reporting, including BAS, FBT and QLD royalties
• Extracting and analysing financial data
• Identifying opportunities to improve reporting and finance processes

What you'll need to succeed 
You’ll ideally bring:

• A tertiary qualification in Accounting, Finance or Commerce
• Previous experience in an accounting or finance role
• Strong Excel and analytical skills
• Experience with ERP/accounting systems, with Pronto highly regarded
• CA, CPA or CIMA qualifications, or working towards them, advantageous
• Strong attention to detail and the confidence to work with operational stakeholders
• Power Query or Power BI experience would be beneficial
