The Opportunity

Veolia is seeking a Water and Wastewater Treatment Technician to join our Victorian Water Operations team, based in Ballarat.

This is a varied role combining plant operations, maintenance, water quality monitoring and practical problem solving. You will work with modern treatment systems, including SCADA, and help improve plant safety, reliability and performance.

The role involves regular travel across Victoria, including some overnight stays, and participation in an on call roster once every 6 weeks.

What you'll be responsible for

Operate and maintain water and wastewater treatment plantsMonitor treatment processes using SCADA and other systemsComplete routine maintenance, fault finding and minor repairsCollect water samples and maintain accurate recordsInspect equipment and identify maintenance requirementsRespond to plant issues and participate in the on call rosterSupport continuous improvement across safety, quality and plant performance

What you'll need to be successful

Experience in water treatment operationsAn understanding of mechanical and electrical equipmentThe ability to work independently and as part of a teamWillingness to travel and participate in rostered evening and weekend work
