Job Description

We’re seeking a Project Operator to support the on‑site delivery of major capital and brownfield construction works across our operations. This is a hands‑on role focused on practical installation, modification, and quality assurance activities, working closely with project teams and contractors to ensure construction works are carried out safely, efficiently, and to specification within an active operational environment.

Your new day-to-day:

  • Carry out hands‑on construction and installation works across mechanical, civil, structural, building and plumbing assets
  • Support delivery of capital works, brownfield upgrades and infrastructure projects on site
  • Perform dismantling, assembly, fit‑out, alignment, connection and basic verification activities
  • Provide direct labour and technical support to contractors and project teams to improve build efficiency
  • Support site establishment, temporary works, access systems and construction logistics
  • Interpret drawings, scopes of work and construction plans, raising any issues or improvement opportunities
  • Conduct QA/QC checks to verify workmanship, materials and compliance with specifications
  • Assist with commissioning and pre‑commissioning activities, inspections and defect close‑out
  • Participate in permits, isolations, SWMS/JHA reviews and site safety processes
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives during both active project periods and quieter phases
Desired Skills and Experience

What you'll need:

  • Trade qualification or building‑related qualification (e.g. construction, civil, plumbing or similar)
  • Demonstrated hands‑on experience supporting construction or project delivery works in an industrial, production, or operational environment
  • Strong practical capability across installation, modification, demolition, and fit‑out activities
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, plans, and scopes of work
  • Experience working collaboratively with contractors, supervisors, and project teams on site
  • Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple work fronts and priorities
  • High attention to detail with a focus on quality workmanship and compliance
  • Sound problem‑solving skills, using initiative to identify issues and contribute practical solutions
  • Commitment to continuous improvement and safe, efficient project delivery

What’s on offer:

  • Weekly payroll in a stable, long‑term role with a well‑established Australian business
  • Relocation assistance available to the right candidate
  • Supportive team environment where your contribution is genuinely valued
  • Ongoing training and development to support your career progression
  • Access to a Salary Packaging Benefits Program
