TRADES ASSISTANTS (MECHANICALLY MINDED)

Are you mechanically minded with a hands-on attitude and a passion for working on heavy-duty mining equipment? Cays Engineering is currently seeking Trades Assistants to join our Mining Team based in Mandurah, working on the refurbishment and maintenance of critical fixed plant components. This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of a skilled and supportive team involved in the refurbishment of impact plates, head chutes, reclaimer buckets, and other fixed plant assets.

You will be working alongside experienced tradespeople and boilermakers, assisting with:

•  Disassembly, refurbishment, and reassembly of fixed plant components

• General workshop duties including grinding, cleaning, and material handling

• Basic mechanical work and use of hand and power tools

• Ensuring all work is performed safely and to high standards

• Keeping the work area clean and organised

What We’re Looking For:

•  A strong mechanical aptitude

• Previous experience in mining, fabrication, or heavy industry (preferred)

• A proactive, reliable, and safety-first approach to work

• Ability to work well in a team and follow direction

• Good physical fitness and a willingness to get hands-on

Licenses & Tickets (Highly Regarded):

•  Forklift License

• Dogging and Rigging Tickets

• Confined Space or Working at Heights (desirable but not essential)
