Position Information
Arthur Phillip High School is situated in the progressive and rapidly expanding CBD city of Parramatta, bringing an exciting and dynamic energy to the school. The school is culturally diverse and has a student population of 1650 with 93% having English as an additional language or dialect (representing over 40 different cultures).
The school boasts facilities that future focused and technology-rich to serve multiple learning contexts from large class groups to small clusters, providing better opportunities for innovation, collaboration, personalised and individualised learning. Arthur Phillip High School incorporates science, technology, engineering, the arts and mathematics areas, fitness labs for physical education classes, and wet and dry studios. The majority of the school's equity and professional learning funding will be used to support the key initiatives framed in our 2026-2029 School Excellence Plan.

- Demonstrated instructional leadership through the strategic use of data, evaluative practice and evidence-informed processes to drive sustained academic and personal growth aligned to the School Excellence Plan.
- Proven capacity to be a highly visible, consultative executive leader who uses emotional intelligence to enhance staff cohesion and foster a collaborative culture of high expectations.
- Demonstrated alignment with the values of public education and a commitment to the NSW plan for Public Education
General Selection Criteria
1. Successful teaching experience with capacity to initiate improvement in teaching, learning and classroom practice
2. Knowledge of curriculum, assessment and student welfare with the ability to lead and design quality, inclusive teaching and learning programs
3. Educational leadership skills to build the capacity and manage the performance of individuals and teams
4. Well developed communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build relationships and engage students, staff and parents
5. Ability to plan and manage resources effectively and equitably to support teaching and learning
6. Knowledge of and commitment to the Department's Aboriginal education policy
Conditions
An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.
