3 x Positions Available! Permanent Full-Time Position: Enjoy a balanced 38-hour week with a 9-day fortnight (including a Rostered Day Off)! Salary between $68,381.56 - $79,470.56 per annum plus 11% Superannuation (commensurate with Experience and Qualifications).

 

About the Role:

This pivotal role supports the Team Leader both onsite and remotely, assisting in directing the team and contributing to the construction of Council’s roads and drainage infrastructure. Working across various disciplines and project teams, you will be involved in a diverse range of tasks including manual labouring, plant operation, and skilled construction work.

Effective liaison and collaboration with internal and external stakeholders, as well as occasional interaction with community members, are key aspects of this role. As a developing leader, strong communication and interpersonal skills are crucial in representing Council positively and focusing on solutions.

Essential Criteria

  1. 1Qualification in Civil Construction or relevant discipline with a minimum of three years’ operational experience within the relevant field of civil construction, roads and drainage or other construction activities.
  2. Proven experience in operating medium to large scale plant, tools and equipment, and manual labouring in relation to roads and drainage construction.
  3. Proven ability in leadership, planning, communicating and coordinating resources for scheduled works and projects that require problem-solving skill set and flexible nature to change work direction for an operational advantage.
  4. Demonstrated ability in the use of computer applications, and operating devices effectively, embracing digital solutions for maintenance works activities to enable field productivity, engineering-design, planning and scheduling based systems to facilitate day- to-day operations.
  5. Ability to effectively communicate with key stakeholders in delivering information on operational and maintenance services.
  6. Demonstrated ability in leading teams, providing effective communication, driving and managing performance and fostering a positive working culture.
  7. Hold and maintain MR Drivers Licence, Ticket or Competency qualification to operate Excavator, Grader or Backhoe, Forklift Licence, Traffic Control Combo (Stop Slow Bat and Implement Traffic Plans), Level 1 Accredited Chainsaw course, current First Aid certificate and WHS Induction Card with a willingness to obtain within 12 months of employment; Asbestos Awareness Training, Identify Locate and Protect Underground Services, Work safely in the vicinity of live electrical apparatus as a non-electrical worker.
  8. Be willing to undertake a Pre-employment Medical Check prior to commencement.
