We are seeking an experienced Retail 2IC who is ready to step into a leadership-support role and grow their career within a structured, values-driven business.
This role has been created as part of our retail leadership restructure, introducing a Retail Operations Manager supported by a Retail 2IC to ensure strong leadership coverage, team support, and operational consistency.
The Opportunity

You will work closely with the Retail Operations Manager and bakery leadership team to support daily operations, develop team capability and maintain the high standards Porter Avenue is known for.

Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Team Support

Support the Retail Operations Manager with daily leadership of the retail team

Provide clear direction during shifts

Support the training and development of team members
-
Promote a respectful, solutions-focused workplace culture

Demonstrate emotional intelligence and professional communication
Retail Operations

Support daily retail workflow and service standards

Assist with opening and closing procedures

Maintain presentation and merchandising standards

Support stock management and product availability

About You
Essential Experience:

Minimum 5 years of experience in retail, hospitality and leadership roles

Previous experience as a supervisor, team leader or senior team member

Strong people skills and communication ability

Ability to support structure, procedures and team accountability

Strong organisational skills
