Be Recruitment is seeking passionate and skilled Therapeutic Youth Workers to join a dedicated team delivering high-quality, trauma-informed care to children and young people with complex needs.
This role is within a residential care setting and requires candidates to hold a minimum Cert IV qualification in Community Services, Youth Work, or a related field – this is non-negotiable.
About the Role
As a Therapeutic Youth Worker, you will play a vital role in supporting children and young people who have experienced significant trauma, abuse, and neglect. Working as part of a multidisciplinary team, you will:

Provide consistent therapeutic care, grounded in trauma-informed practice

Model positive, pro-social behaviours to help young people develop healthy relationships and life skills

Create a safe, nurturing, and structured home environment

Support young people in understanding and managing trauma-related behaviours

Encourage engagement in educational, recreational, and community activities
-
Assist with daily routines including personal care, meals, school attendance, and appointments

Maintain accurate records and incident reports in line with organisational procedures
Key Requirements

Cert IV or higher in Community Services, Youth Work or similar – mandatory

Minimum six months of paid experience working as a Therapeutic Youth Worker – mandatory

International Police Check if you have lived overseas for more than 12 months – mandatory

Full NSW Driver’s Licence

Current First Aid and CPR certification

Valid Working with Children Check (WWCC)

Willingness to undergo a National Police Check

COVID-19 vaccination or valid medical exemption

Foundational Elements of Therapeutic Care Training

Joint Protocol Training for Residential Workers

Availability to work a rotating roster, including days, evenings, weekends, and sleepovers
