Primary objective
Provide support to the administration team in the areas of finance, travel and the upskilling of staff. Provide administrative
and organisational support to the Executive Team in a busy and demanding on-line school environment.

Context statement
The Northern Territory School of Distance Education (NTSDE) supports and delivers a range of educational services to
students’ resident in the Northern Territory or temporarily living interstate or overseas. NTSDE collaborates with home
schools, supporting educators to deliver high quality, innovative and flexible senior secondary online programs. School staff
must be prepared to travel, use advanced online technologies, and work in both online and face-to-face modes.

Key duties and responsibilities
1. Provide support to the Business Manager and Executive Team.
2. Quality assure school calendars and timelines.
3. Monitor work requests to ensure timely completion.
4. Lead the organisation of identified school wide activities and events.
5. Assist in the ongoing development of administration policies and procedures.
6. Where applicable, provide financial and travel support and training to staff.
7. Assist and relieve the Administration Manager when required.

Selection criteria
Essential
1. Demonstrated successful experience in all aspects of administrative management, including leading a small team and

coordination of staff.
2. Demonstrated experience organising and prioritising workloads, problem solving and working to strict deadlines.
3. Well-developed interpersonal skills with the proven ability to maintain effective relationships with internal and external

stakeholders.
4. Experience using a range of various office applications, video conferencing software, financial accounting systems and

processing of official travel requests through travel data bases.
5. Demonstrated high level oral and written communication skills, and demonstrated ability to work independently with

minimal supervision.

Desirable
1. Experience working in a busy office environment.
