,About the Role

We are currently seeking experienced female Disability Support Workers to join our team in Nairne (Mt Barker region), supporting a participant with complex, high-care needs.

This role involves providing 24/7 support in a home environment, working as part of a 2:1 care model during the day and active overnight support.

About the Participant

You will be supporting a female participant living with:

• Huntington’s Disease
• Severe physical and cognitive impairment
• Swallowing difficulties (modified diet required)
• Limited verbal communication
• Full dependence for all activities of daily living

This is a high-intensity support role requiring patience, compassion, and strong clinical understanding.

Key Responsibilities

• Personal care (showering, dressing, toileting, continence care)
• Manual handling (2:1 transfers and mobility support)
• Meal preparation and assisted feeding (dysphagia support)
• Medication assistance
• Monitoring safety (falls, choking risks)
• Domestic duties (cleaning, laundry, meal prep)
• Community access and transport
• Providing emotional support and companionship

Essential Requirements

• Female support workers only (as per participant preference)
• Minimum 2+ years experience in high-care / complex disability support
• Experience with:
• Neurological conditions (e.g., Huntington’s, Dementia)
• Dysphagia / modified diets
• Manual handling (2:1 care)
• NDIS Worker Screening Check
• First Aid & CPR
• Valid Driver’s Licence & reliable vehicle
• Working rights in Australia

Highly Desirable

• Certificate III or IV in Individual Support / Disability
• Experience in behaviour support
• Ability to work day, evening, and overnight shifts
