About the role
Â
Located in the Early Childhood Outcomes (ECO) division, The Project Officer coordinates and undertakes project and policy development, providing analysis, advice and contributing to the development of a range of projects.
Â
- Ability to undertake research and provide accurate high-quality quantitative analysis of complex datasets from a range of sources and collate information for reporting, monitoring and evaluation purposes to contribute to support development of policy outcomes and programs Â
- Prepare tailored surveys using appropriate methodology, conduct analysis, theming and validation of qualitative data
- Provide plain language advice on complex technical issues to enhance the understanding of non-technical audiences and support decision making
- Highly organised, able to work in a past paced environment, adaptable and has strong communication skills

About you –
Â
As the Project Officer you will be able to
Â
- Conduct research and analysis, evaluating policy options and alternatives to support the policy development process and inform decision-making
- Deliver a range of project management and support services, including preparing discussion papers, briefings, and submissions to support the development and implementation of policy initiatives.
- Engage with key stakeholders and coordinate working groups, committee meetings, and consultations to support effective policy development and implementation
- Knowledge of and commitment to implementing the Department’s Aboriginal Education Policy and upholding the Department’s Partnership Agreement with the NSW AECG and to ensure quality outcomes for Aboriginal people.

Essential requirements of the role
- Proven experience working with complex datasets, including data analysis, validation, and reporting and have advanced excel skills.
- Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to the value of public education.
