About the Role
As Practice Manager, you will play a key leadership role in the day-to-day operations of the practice. You will be responsible for ensuring the smooth running of the clinic while supporting our doctors, nurses, and reception team to deliver outstanding patient care. This is a flexible part-time role and can be made suitable for a working parent who needs to cater around children.
Key Responsibilities
• Lead and manage the daily operations of the medical centre.
• Oversee and support a team of doctors, nurses, and reception staff.
• Foster a positive, collaborative, and patient-focused workplace culture.
• Ensure the delivery of exceptional patient care and service standards.
• Coordinate staff recruitment, onboarding, and retention activities.
• Manage staff performance, development, and training.
• Process and manage staff payroll, ensuring wages are paid accurately and on time in accordance with relevant awards, employment agreements, and legislative requirements.
• Ensure compliance with practice policies, procedures, accreditation standards, and relevant healthcare regulations.
• Monitor and improve operational efficiency and workflow processes.
• Support financial and administrative management functions of the practice.
About You
The successful candidate will possess:
• Previous experience in practice management, healthcare administration, or similar leadership role.
• An understanding of Best Practice and all its modalities and functions ideal
• Experience with Xero accounting preferred
• Strong leadership and people management skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
• A commitment to delivering high-quality patient care and service.
• Strong organisational and problem-solving skills.
• Sound knowledge of Medicare billing, MBS item numbers, claiming processes, and private billing procedures within a general practice setting.
• Knowledge of medical practice operations, accreditation requirements, and health compliance standards.
• Previous experience in a medical reception role is highly desirable and will be viewed favourably.
• The ability to work independently while fostering a supportive team environment.
