We are looking for a motivated and skilled Team Member – Civil Maintenance to join our team. This role plays a key part in delivering Council’s road and civil maintenance programs, ensuring the safety, functionality, and presentation of public infrastructure across the region.

Reporting to the Team Leader Civil Maintenance, you will contribute to a range of maintenance activities including road repairs, drainage works, and the upkeep of footpaths. You will also provide support to other operational teams as required. This role is based at Freeling, about 15 minutes from Gawler

Role Key Responsibilities

·         Provide services to Council’s Road Maintenance Program

·         Operate plant and equipment, including loaders, skid steers, and trucks

·         Support other teams such as Civil Construction and Horticulture with Council’s stormwater drainage and general maintenance

·         Ensure safe work practices and compliance with WHS procedures

·         Participate in after-hours on-call roster and emergency response as required

To be successful in this role, you will need:

·         MR (Medium Rigid) driver’s licence – essential

·         At least 12 months’ experience in civil, roads, maintenance, or horticulture.

·         Certificate III in Civil Construction or similar (desirable).

·         Experience in Work Zone Traffic Management and the setup and maintenance of traffic control devices

·         Earthmoving plant tickets and experience operating loaders, backhoes, skid steers, and power tools

·         Strong understanding safe work practices and compliance with WHS procedures

·         A team-focused attitude with strong communication and problem-solving skills that
